MBA consulting association is a student run association that facilitates a platform for students to explore and pursue consulting careers. Through a series of workshops, personal mentoring and activities it engages its members to

  • Develop professional networks
  • Gain exposure to consulting careers
  • Provide resources for interviews and case competitions
  • Partner with other departments/associations for consulting work

Membership fee for two years is $50.

Blake Douglas, Co-President

Blake Douglas is the Co-President of the Consulting Association. From Vancouver, Canada, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Entrepreneurial Management from Royal Roads University and a Diploma of Technology in Marketing Management Communications from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Professionally, he spent four years working in the marketing world, both on the agency and client side. For the past five years, he was working in marine transportation for a large ferry organization in a management role focusing on commercial sales, operations and logistics. At Smeal, he is concentrating on supply chain and finance and in his free time he enjoys being active through sports and fitness of any kind.

Rachana S. Kathawate is the Co-President of Smeal MBA Consulting Association. She has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Mumbai University. Prior to joining the Smeal MBA program, Rachana started off as a Business Development associate with a boutique consulting firm in Mumbai and then moved on to joining Reliance Industries Limited as a  refinery commissioning Technologist for 3 years and as a Project Manager for the last 2 years. During these 6 years in manufacturing, she helped with many process improvement opportunities achieve their strategic objectives by leveraging best practices, providing industry insights, motivating cross-functional teams and leading successful project execution. At Smeal, she is concentrating in Supply Chain Management and Marketing. She is a trained Indian classical dancer and also enjoys travelling. When she isn’t busy with school work, she enjoys spending time outdoors.

Brady Calhoun, VP of Operations

Brady Calhoun is responsible for the Consulting Association's operations. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Biology Concentration, from Penn State University and has professional experience is primarily in telecommunications. As an MBA student concentrating in supply chain and consulting, his ideal position would be as a strategy consultant for a biotechnology firm. Aside from academics and work, he enjoys writing fiction as a creative outlet.
